Digital Money Unconference - Toronto
Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2012
Organized by Debbie Gamble, Pierre Roberge and Consult Hyperion
NOW sponsored by ACT Canada
About the event:
Following on from the success of the Digital Money Unconference events held in London and New York, the aim of the Toronto event will be to foster cross-sector discussions on innovation around new business models in the world of payments and digital commerce. It is organized on a participant-driven agenda leveraging the 'un-conference' format where the topics of the day are decided on the day.
“An 'unconference' is a participant-driven meeting. The term "unconference" has been applied, or self-applied, to a wide range of gatherings that try to avoid one or more aspects of a conventional conference, such as high fees, sponsored presentations, and top-down organisation. For example, in 2006, CNNMoney applied the term to diverse events including Foo Camp, BarCamp, Bloggercon, and Mashup Camp”.
